1:1 Mentoring
Being a young person today is tough! With so many physical and emotional changes, school pressures, changing friendships and social media to name a few, this makes for a challenging time. This is the time in our lives when we are getting to know who we are, what we stand for and how we show up in the world. 1 on 1 mentoring provides a safe space for young people to express their feelings, share what is going on for them with someone who can listen non judgementally, guide, motivate and support them as they navigate these difficult years and help them to tap into themselves. We all have what we need within us, it’s just a matter of knowing how to access it.

Mentors can be a positive role model in the young persons life. They provide important reinforcement and guidance that they may dismiss or reject from parents. This is a typical part of adolescent growth as they make a distinction between themselves and their parents. A mentor ensures that the young person continues to get direction and wisdom from an adult with similar values. While parental guidance remains critical, an adult mentor in your young persons life supports and is an additional fundamental step to effective parenting.
